So I don't really know when they started doing this...sometime in the last 10 years! Well for those that don't know what it is...they are testing for gestational diabetes.
The first test (1 hour) you have to drink this SUPER sweet drink in 5 minutes an hour before your appointment with no drinking or eating afterwards. They then draw your blood when you get to the office, testing your blood sugar if it comes back high you have to come back for the 3 hour test.
I did not pass the first test on Monday so I had to go back yesterday for the 3 hour. I think the worst part was you can't eat anything after midnight before and can't eat or drink until after the whole test is done which was after 12pm. Keep in mind that Baby Hope reminds me when I haven't eaten enough or at all....she was NOT a happy camper yesterday at all. This one they tested my blood before I drank more of the sweet drink. After that they tested my blood one every hour for 3 hours after that. I did learn I take after my mom and they have problems finding my veins!! (Thanks mom!)
So after my long day of sitting in the doctor's office lobby, being poked more than the 4 times needed because of not finding veins, being nauseaous and dizzy - I just got a great phone call!
I PASSED!!! Yippee for small favors and a healthy baby!!
Oh yeah, I am also on week 28 already...only 12 more to go!

Baby Hope is active!
So April 20th, 2009 marks the day I officially felt the baby karate kicks from Baby Hope. I was sitting at my desk at work and felt the "popcorn" feeling from the inside but this time there was no question about it, I have a future soccer player.
Since then, I have felt her more and more each day. I love it...it is such a great feeling!! I do know though that there will be a day down the road that I am going to be stuck with a foot in my ribs and be very uncomfortable but yet I will also have a baby daughter down the road too! :)

Baby Lane is a....
GIRL!!!
Yes, we officially on team pink and purple!
We had an ultrasound this morning and got to see the brain, heart chambers, spine, and tummy. Every thing looked good!
I was also released from pelvic rest. My placenta has moved and I no longer have placenta previa which is great news. So the appointment this morning was all around GREAT!!!
We have a few new ultrasound pictures but she was hiding her face the whole time during her gymnastic routine.....she was moving so much!! The one time they got a shot at her face she had her arm across it and the ultrasound tech called her stubborn. Proves right there that she is definetly an Aure-Lane baby!!
We have decided on the name Hope Victoria Lane. Hope is my mom's middle name and Victoria was Tutu's middle name. For those who don't know who Tutu was, she was my grandma (My mom's mom).
I will post new pictures soon!

First Blog...update
Hello all! Welcome to the Aure-Lane Family Blog!
I thought I would start up a family blog especially with our little one on the way this August/September.
Just to catch everyone up today here are a few facts-
Pete and I found out we were expecting on the morning of December 24th, 2008. It was a super surprise but we are excited.
The original due date was August 21st but after the first ultrasound at 6 weeks they moved it to September 2nd.
On February 24th, I woke up at 1am bleeding. Pete took me to the ER where they found out I have Placenta Previa. This is were the Placenta is covering the opening of the cervix (obviously not were it is suppose to be). The baby was good with a strong heartrate of 170 so they sent me home on pelvic rest. At this time, they also moved the due date to August 31st, as the baby was measuring ahead.
Our last appointment, March 18th, we had another ultrasound to try to get the baby's measurements and see the gender. The ultrasound tech was only able to measure the head, legs and spine, all looking good. We will try again on April 10th, to get pictures of the heart, tummy and to try again on the gender.
As of today, I am still on pelvic rest, which means no heavy lifting and no exercise or extra activity. Otherwise known as "Take it easy" motto.
Look forward to some pictures SOON and again welcome to the Aure-Lane family blog!!
